Using Bubble bags to Make Dry Ice Hash.
If you're interested in making dry ice hashes, we'll guide you through the process of making high-quality delicious hashes using dry ice.
Basic Knowlege
First, let's start with the basics. There are many different types of hashes, made using a variety of different methods. Hash is a cannabis concentrate that can be produced with or without solvents. The dry ice method produces a solvent-free hash because no substances are used to chemically extract the cannabinoids from the plant. Solvent-free hash is always considered a "purer" product because no chemicals are involved in the process.
Step by step
1.The first step in making dry ice hashes is to get some dry ice. You can buy it at the supermarket, if not, just google "where to buy dry ice" in the language of where you live. Dry ice is very cold, about -78.5°C. You will need to purchase some thick gloves to handle dry ice. Never touch dry ice with bare skin!
Next on the shopping list is the bubble hash bag, a specially designed sieve bag for making dry ice hash. Just search for "dry ice extraction bubble bags" and that's all you need. They are designed differently, however, the most important part is their mesh, basically how small the "sieve holes" are. The smaller the micron, the higher the quality of the hash produced. A 73 micron bag will yield a golden premium kief (powdered resin used to make hash). A 160 micron bag will contain more plant material in the kief mix but still produce a high quality hash. Some sieve bags seal on the sides, while others allow sieving all the way through the bubble bag.
For more control, the former is recommended. Also, buy a plastic container where you can shake the mesh bag comfortably. You can sieve on any dry and flat surface, however, you do not want the kief to be dusted outside of the area you designate. Also, buy a pollen press to turn kief into compact hash flakes. Once you've purchased and set up everything, it's time to make some dry ice hashes!
2.Place plant material, trimmings and/or flower buds in mesh bubble bag, wear gloves, and place dry ice cubes in bubble bag. You may want to hammer the dry ice and insert small pieces for logistical purposes and to improve the cooling process. When dry ice comes into contact with plant material, it freezes the plant slightly and the trichomes become brittle and easily fall off the plant, which is why dry ice is needed. Now, place the mesh bag by hand on a plastic container or a flat smooth surface from which you can easily collect the kief.
3. Start shaking the bag in a controlled manner and you'll find golden powder spills on the surface - that's your baby! Shake the bag for 10 seconds, wait 5 seconds, start shaking again, and repeat. This will spread the cold more evenly. Once no more kief comes out, put all the material into a second mesh bubble bag with a larger mesh size and repeat the shaking process. You can separate kief from different mesh bubble bags or mix everything together, it's your choice.
4. Once you've scraped off the kief with a credit card or similar, collect it wherever you see fit. You can skip the hash making stage and sprinkle some kief into the joint to make it exponentially more potent. But please be patient and complete the process by turning the kief into a dry ice hash - we trust you.
5. Put the kief in the pollen press, close the lid, screw on the press, and you'll receive a good quality dry ice hash in small pieces! So there you have it, folks. Make sure to organize each step beforehand to ensure a successful extraction. We hope this guide gave you all the information you need to create some killer dry ice hashes!
